UUMAN’s new Music Director:  Huu Mai

 

 

Musically versatile, Huu Mai (pronounced: “Ho My”) is a pianist, violinist, teacher, conductor, and composer. In addition he has performed as a solo recitalist, collaborative artist and chamber musician.

Huu Mai enjoys performing as guest-soloist with orchestras such as the Cobb Symphony Orchestra and the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra, with which he currently serves as principal guest-soloist.  Among his accolades are receiving the Steinway Foundation's John Innes Grant, and his personal invitation to perform for President George W. Bush.  

Huu Mai has served as Guest Lecturer and Composer-in-Residence at the Kennesaw State University School of Music, where he acquired a B.M. in Piano Performance under the guidance of David Watkins.

Huu Mai is a passionate believer in passing on the gift of music. His students have been recognized locally and nationally in performance and composition.

 

 

Huu Mai’s experience includes directing church choirs and orchestras. He is a Yamaha Certified Instructor, currently serves as the Auditions Chair for the Cobb County Music Teachers Association and is an active member in the Music Teachers National Association.
